RUCC Return to Training Procedures
We are very excited at the prospect of cricketers returning to Railway Union. We are committed to getting cricket back up and running in the club and ensuring that it is played within a safe environment.
After a great deal of work we are ready to approve the resumption of a limited training for the Mens teams from the middle of next week, in the hope that group training can resume for all age groups and teams from the following Monday 22nd June. Members can book nets sessions (no more than two players at a time) from Wednesday 17th June.
To return to play you must complete all three steps outlined below. Our Covid Safety Officer Ken Carrroll will be running an online training session for members via Zoom taking you through how to do this and the safety measures we have put in place. You will be invited to attend a session when you pay your subs.
Our measures and procedures are under constant review and updated as advice from Cricket Ireland, Cricket Leinster, the health authorities and governing bodies evolves in line with the gradual lifting of social restrictions.
Step 1 – Safety
Before ANY member uses the training facilities they MUST have completed and returned to the Club our Covid-19 self-assessment form. This takes less than 5 minutes to complete but is vital for the club to have in the event it is needed for contact tracing purposes at a later stage. You also need to be familiar with our Safer Return to Training guidelines. Adult men and women members and youths who are likely to play in adult competitions need to register with Cricket Leinster.
Step 2 – Subscriptions
All members wishing to use the training facilities must be paid up as a member of the club. Those paying by installments will have to made their initial payment before they can start training.
Step 3 – Booking
All membesr wishing to attend training MUST be booked in. You can access the relevant booking forms below. There is a restriction on the maximum number of people we can have on the ground at any one time. For us to ensure that we comply with this restriction we are asking all members to complete the booking form every Friday for the training sessions on the following week. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
All members can book sessions in the nets from Wednesday 17th June. A maximum of two players (one bowler and one batter) can use a net at any one time. Youth members under the age of 16 can book the nets but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration fo the session. Everyone using the nets must comply with the cleaning, safety, and social distancing protocols.
