Railway's Liam McCarthy made his Irish debut this weekend against the West Indies. After being part of the team that won the opening match, he then followed it up in match 2 by taking his first international wickets finishing with 3-66 after accounting for Windies captain Shai Hope, centurion Keacy Carty and then Matthew Forde.
Unfortunately weather was the ultimate winner in match 2 with no result possibly. In match 3 the resurgent visitors posted a formidable total that Ireland were unable to ever challenge and West Indies levelled the series 1-1.
Railway did have involvement in the West Indies team with irish cricketing legend and Railway Union's Kevin O'Brien part of the WI coaching set up for their Irish matches.
