2019 Year Book

The 2019 annual marks the retirement from international cricket of club legend Niall O’Brien. Niall made his international debut for Ireland in 2002 at Stormont against Denmark. In the intervening 16 years, he apeared 216 times for the national side, leaving the game as Ireland’s most successful wicketkeeper with 241 international dismissals to his name.

We can’t reflect on 2018 without remembering the day our very own King Kev made history on 14th May in Malahide. Kevin became the first man to score a century for Ireland in a test match againt a pretty tasty Pakistan attack. Whoever writes his scripts should be nominate for an oscar!

The league and cup campaigns of the 2nds in 2018 is well documented. A great season that culminated in skipper, Shariq Khan, lifting the Division 4 trophy.

As uausual there are a few left-field features too. An article on the connection between Railway and India’s latest batting prodigy fits that bill. The moment when our Paddy Shaw came up against Prithvi Shaw in Cheshire is recounted in full colour.

As well as the usual mix of statisitics, information, and fixtures, there is also a report on the youth season. All lovingly and painstakingly put together by our President FX Carty.
