Kevin O'Brien returns to Railway as Senior Men's Coach from 2023 onwards

The Irish Cricket World Cup Hero, Kevin O'Brien returns home to the Railway Union Cricket Club, after accepting the Senior Men's Coach Role at the club. The committee on Thursday, 16th Feb, ratified Kevin as their head coach as Railway Union returned to Premier League in the 2023 Season.

The Club, now even stronger with Kevin's guidance, is looking forward to participating and excelling in the Irish Senior Cup, Alan Murray Cup, and most importantly, the Premier League.

Before announcing his retirement on the 16th of August 2022, Kevin played a significant role in the growth and rise to prominence of Irish Cricket during his 15-year career with the National Team. Kevin's blistering knock in Bangalore in The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup helped us get over the line against our neighbors, England announcing Ireland's arrival on the big stage. His brilliance in the shorter format also carried over to the longer format of the gentleman's game. During Ireland's first ever test match against Pakistan, Kevin became the first-ever Irishman to score a test century.

Along with his coaching role, Kevin will be seen with his power-hitting plays in the Premier League with the Men's 1's Team and also at Legends League Cricket. Kevin will also be taking up 1 on 1 session with those interested through his academy and can be reached on Instagram at @kevinobriencricketacademy

With such a prolific and rich cricketing history that Kevin brings, Railway Union is proud to be called home by Kevin and welcome him in his new role. Good Luck Kev!
